Not the Beretta 8000 Cougar! |
|
Most
of today’s autoloading pistols use a barrel that
tilts away from the line of sight during
firing. Not the Beretta 8000 Cougar! Its barrel rotates
to lock with the slide, meaning greater strength and that it stays in the same plane for each
shot for greater accuracy. Choose from four of the most popular service and sport cartridges:
9mm Parabellum, .357 SIG, .40 S&W and .45 Auto. The standard Cougar has a full-sized frame,
while the compact and lighter Cougar L has a shorter grip and is proportioned for a
10-round 9mm magazine. |

..................... Unique
Rotating Barrel
By
channeling part of the recoil energy into barrel rotation,
and by partially absorbing the barrel and slide recòil
shock through the central block before it is transferred
to the frame, the Cougar achieves unusually low felt
recoil. When the Cougar is in battery, the positive
lock‑up of barrel to slide assures perfect alignment
of barrel and sights. Upon firing, the barrel travels
and rotates with axial movement. The result is superior
accuracy and quicker recovery for second shots.
