After almost tre year that I'm retired I went to read the Farewell that the General Manager wrote me, I'm missing my job!
Dear Ugo,
Yesterday we had the "virtual" meeting (due Covid-19) of the Executive Committee with the people copied on this email. At the end, we announced your retirement from the company scene due to having reached pension age...
You should’ve seen the scenes... some burst into uncontrollable tears, others gave in to shouting and wild gestures, some remained motionless with a dazed and vacant look, and some were wondering when you’d be treating us to some good Franciacorta with sweet and savory snacks... In short, total mayhem!!!
Now, as we say goodbye, we simply want to thank you:
* For finally getting out of our hair!
* For dedicating your entire life to this company and this brand!
* For having taught so much to so many of us!
* For putting into your work a passion and determination that is hard to match!
* For opening paths that many didn’t even see as possible!
* For bringing a bit of light to the American darkness!
* For always saying exactly what you think!
* For putting up with so many Juventus fans (so many!) and Inter fans (thankfully just a few) around you!
Now we leave you to your next adventures, though we may still bother you from time to time to enjoy a bit more of the nectar of knowledge you’ve distilled over all these years at Beretta.

Caro Ugo,
Ieri abbiamo avuto la riunione “virtuale” di Comitato Operativo con le persone che leggono in copia. Alla fine abbiamo annunciato il tuo ritiro dalle scene aziendali per raggiunto pensionamento…. Non ti dico le scene…chi scoppiava in un pianto dirotto, chi si lasciava preda ad urla e gesti inconsulti, chi restava immobile con sguardo inebetito ed assente, chi si domandava quando avresti offerto un buon Franciacorta accompagnato da stuzzichini dolci e salati… Insomma un vero delirio!!!
Ora, nel salutarti, con la presente vogliamo semplicemente ringraziarti:
- Per esserti finalmente levato di torno!
- Per aver dedicato una vita intera a quest’azienda e a questo marchio!
- Per aver insegnato tanto, a tanti di noi!
- Per aver messo una passione ed una determinazione nel tuo lavoro che ha pochi eguali!
- Per aver aperto strade che molti non vedevano possibili!
- Per aver portato un po’ di luce nell’oscurità americana!
- Per aver sempre detto quello che pensi!
